Work Begins on Central Avenue Murals

Courtesy: KCRG

Work is already underway to paint another series of murals on downtown Dubuque buildings. Last year, more than a dozen murals were installed on buildings in the Lower Main area. This year, ten more murals will be placed on buildings that sit on Central Avenue between 14th and 18th Streets. The group Voice Productions is leading the installation of the murals. They hosted a workshop for volunteers and student artists who will be helping with the murals this week. Clarke University art student Laura Reiss is participating in the workshop and looks forward to seeing the finished product. The first of the Central Avenue murals is being painted on the Carpenters Local Union building in the 1600 block.
