Wisconsin Statewide Tornado Drill Postponed
The threat of actual severe weather has caused Wisconsin state officials to push back a planned statewide tornado drill. That exercise was initially planned for this afternoon and evening, but has been pushed to tomorrow. The timing of the drill will stay the same. It will begin with a test tornado watch being issued at 1:00 PM. At 1:45, a test tornado warning will be triggered. That will remain in effect until 2:00, when both the watch and warning will be cancelled. An additional mock warning will be issued at 6:45. Many local cities and counties are expected to test their outdoor warning sirens during the drill. But alerts will not be sent though weather apps installed on cell phones or similar devices.
