Western Dubuque senior Sam Goodman has announced he will be playing baseball next year at the University of Iowa. Goodman made the announcement via Twitter this morning. Goodman, a three sport athlete at W.D. helped lead the Bobcats to the state semi-finals last season on the mound with a 9-and-1 record, recording 113 strikeouts and an E.R.A. of 0.65. Goodman is the second Dubuque County senior to commit to Iowa, Dubuque Senior’s Sam Link has already signed a letter of intent to go to Iowa and play baseball. The two were teammates helping lead the Dubuque County American Legion team to the Legion World Series this past summer.
Hempstead senior David Holesinger announced yesterday he is committing to run cross country at the University of Northern Iowa in the fall. Holesinger had a fifth place individual finish at the state cross country meet this fall while leading Hempstead to a team runner up finish in Class 4-A.
