Two People Arrested On Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in the downtown area of Dubuque this week. 36 year old Holly Campbell of Dubuque and 38 year old Alan Julson both face charges ranging from possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver to unlawful possession of prescription drugs. A little after 4 Monday afternoon an officer stopped a vehicle driven by Campbell in the 1600 block of Main Street. Julson was a passenger and the officer knew he had an arrest warrant for escape from custody and probation violation. Julson was placed under arrest. Officers found two plastic baggies in his front pants pocket that contained over 34 grams of meth. A K-9 unit was then brought to the scene and detected more illegal drugs inside the car. Executing a search warrant police found a backpack inside the car that contained 113 grams of meth and two more baggies that had 2.6 grams. A pouch belonging to Campbell was also found inside the vehicle. It contained 9 prescription tablets. Officers also found a digital scale, packaging materials, a pipe used to smoke meth and various drug paraphernalia items. Campbell was also cited for driving while barred.
