Tasty Turkey Meatlaof

Tasty Turkey Meatloaf   (serves 6-8) 

1 tbsp. Olive oil

1 large onion, chopped

Kosher salt

Fresh ground black pepper

2 tsp. garlic powder

2 tbsp. Italian seasoning

3 lbs. ground turkey

1 ¼ cups breadcrumbs

½ cup milk

3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup ketchup

2/3 cup brown sugar

1 tsp. yellow mustard

1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 

Preheat oven to 325.  Lightly spray a large deep baking dish with cooking spray.  In a large skillet, over medium heat, heat oil.  Add onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.  Season with salt and pepper, then stir in the garlic powder and Italian seasoning.  Stir and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.  Remove from heat and let cool slightly. 

In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, 3 tbsp. Worcestershire, eggs, and cooked vegetables until combined.  Season with salt and pepper.  

On a prepared baking dish, form meat mixture into a loaf.  In a small bowl, stir ketchup, brown sugar, yellow mustard and 1 tbsp. Worcestershire until combined, then, brush over loaf.  Bake until the internal temperature reaches 160-degrees F, about 1 hour 20 minutes.  Remove from oven, let rest 5 minutes, slice and serve.
