Targeted Testing To Start In Dubuque County

The Dubuque County COVID-19 Management Team will start to test a select group of people for COVID-19 beginning today. County Health Department Director Patrice Lambert says the “targeted testing will be done on people at long-term care facilities, their staffs and people who have been identified through contact tracing…that’s those who may have been exposed to COVID-19. The testing of about one thousand people will be done under the direction of the state health department. Lambert, who was part of Governor Kim Reynolds’ daily press briefings yesterday says on April 29th a COVID-19 outbreak was identified at the Dubuque County long-term care facility. At the same time the county began to experience an increase in positive cases. Lambert says by mid-day on Sunday the plan was in place to conduct “targeted testing.” But right now the testing is not for everyone. Lambert says they will continue to work with state officials to pursue community testing options for Dubuque County. The “targeted testing” starts today and runs through Friday.
