Suspected Drug Dealer’s Case Moved to Federal Court

Federal charges are expected to be filed against a man found with large amounts of drugs and cash in a Dubuque hotel. 40-year-old Brandon Seys of Delmar made an initial appearance in federal court last week on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. But a formal charge won’t be filed until a grand jury brings an indictment against Seys. He was arrested early last week by officers from the Dubuque Drug Task Force. Court documents show Seys had nearly $11,000 in cash on him at the time of his arrest. Inside his hotel room, officers reportedly found nearly 100 grams of cocaine and more than 180 grams of methamphetamine. Additional drug packaging materials were also located in Seys’s vehicle. He had originally faced seven state-level charges, but they have all been dropped since the case moved to the federal level.
