Weather conditions don’t look the greatest for this evening’s Iowa girls and boys state track and field qualifying meets being held around Eastern Iowa. Cloudy, Windy and falling temps through the evening won’t make ideal conditions for the athletes in their efforts to reach Des Moines next week.
One of the six Class 4A qualifying sites will be Dalzell Field: Senior, Hempstead, and Western Dubuque will be among eight schools in the meet.
Wahlert will be one of the eight teams represented at the 3-A qualifying meet hosted by West Delaware in Manchester. Maquoketa is among the eight teams.
Cascade, Bellevue, and Dyersville Beckman will be among the 12 schools at the Class 2-A qualifying meet in Monticello.
In Class 1A: Bellevue Marquette Catholic is at the qualifying meet in Central City and Clayton Ridge will be at Edgewood-Colesburg.
The top two event place finishers in Class 4A, 3A, and 2A meets and the top event finishers in Class 1-A are assured qualification for the state meet next Thursday thru Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
