Spiral Sliced Ham
Spiral sliced ham
Chicken broth
Sturdy aluminum foil
Roasting pan
Roasting rack
Cooking spray
Preheat oven to 325-degrees F. Spray your roasting pan with cooking spray. Remove ham from packaging, being careful to reserve juices in plastic wrap. Add those juices to the bottom of roasting pan, and add 1-2 cups chicken broth.
Place ham, fat side up, on roasting rack in roasting pan. Cover the ham completely with aluminum foil, making sure to seal the ham, so no steam escapes while baking. Bake for 10 minutes per pound, meaning if you have a 12 pound ham, it will take 2 hours to bake. Remember, mostly all spiral sliced hams are precooked (check label on ham), so, you’re not really baking the ham, merely reheating the ham. Do not remove ham from oven during cooking time. Once you have reached your cooking time, remove ham from oven, and, let rest about 5 minutes. Carefully remove foil (as there will likely be trapped steam) and baste ham generously with pan juices. If you have a glaze package that came with ham, and are using, prepare according to directions and add to ham. Slice and serve.
