Six Month Sentence For Dubuque Man

A Dubuque man, who led authorities on a three state high speed chase last month and then collided with a Dubuque County sheriff deputy’s squad car, has been sentenced to jail. A Jo Daviess County Circuit Court judge sentenced 22 year old Adam Reinert to six months in jail after he pled guilty to one felony count of aggravated fleeing. In exchange for his guilty plea, a second count of aggravated fleeing and numerous traffic citations were dismissed. The incident happened on December 2nd, when a Dubuque County deputy attempted to stop Reinert on Dodge Street for going 25 miles over the posted speed limit. Reinert refused to stop as he led authorities down Dodge Street/Highway 20 and into Illinois reaching speeds of 90 mph. He then entered Grant County, Wisconsin, where he drove into the Hazel Green area. The chase ended along Illinois 84 when Reinert’s vehicle was struck by a Dubuque County squad car. Two passengers in Reinert’s car received minor injuries.
