Taylor Big 10 POW

Wisconsin junior running back Jonathan Taylor was named the Big 10 Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Badgers decisive win at South Florida on Friday night. Taylor totaled 183 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns, two of them rushing and two of them receiving.

 

UNI Kicker Matthew Cook Earns National FCS Award

–UNI freshman kicker Matthew Cook has earned FCS Special Teams National Player of the Week honors for his performance in the 3OT loss at No. 21 Iowa State.  Saturday, he went 4-4 in field goals, including a make from 50 yards and one from 49 yards.

Cook was also named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week .

 

Epstein Out for Illini

– Illinois running back Mike Epstein has sustained a season-ending injury for the third straight year. Coach Lovie Smith said Monday the junior hurt his knee in the third quarter of the opener against Akron. Epstein has played 13 games over three seasons and rushed for 802 yards and scored seven touchdowns.
