Proposed Guttenberg Aquatic Center Receives Grant

A proposed aquatic center in Guttenberg has received a financial shot in the arm from the state. The Enhance Iowa Board approved a Community Attraction and Tourism, or CAT, grant for a little more than $481,000 for the center. The new aquatic center will feature zero-depth entry, water features, an energy efficient and Americans with Disabilities Act compliant bathhouse, shade structures, six 25-meter lap lanes, a diving tower, and a water slide. Total cost of the project is around $4 million. The Enhance Iowa program provides financial assistance to communities for the construction of recreational, cultural, educational, and entertainment facilities.
