Pick-Up Strikes Home In Dubuque County

A medical condition is being blamed for an accident that left a home severely damaged in Dubuque County over the weekend. The incident happened a few minutes after 5 pm Friday. Emergency crews received a call of a pick-up that had struck a residence in the 10,000 block of Cascade Road. Authorities say the truck was imbedded inside the home when they arrived. Witnesses told investigators that the driver had gotten out of the truck and left the scene. The driver, later identified as 42 year old Andy Conlan, was located at his home in the 10,000 block of Kemp Road. Conlan was found to be suffering from a diabetic condition. He was treated by Key West fire, but refused further medical attention. Conlan was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and having an open container of alcohol. Damage to the pick-up is estimated at $35,000 while the residence sustained around $75,000 in damages.
