Perpetual Motion Dubuque

On Christmas Day, CityChannel Dubuque will premiere a program that attempts to capture contemporary life in Dubuque with video shot from a camera that was constantly turning. “Perpetual Motion Dubuque” airs on CityChannel Dubuque (cable channel 8 or digital 117.2) on Christmas Day at 4 p.m. and repeats on New Year’s Day at 10 a.m.  The program will also stream live and be archived on the City’s website at www.cityofdubuque.org/media. The program presents dozens of scenes and sounds recorded around town during all 12 months of 2019. The camera will start turning at the beginning of the program and won’t stop until the very end.  Viewers will find themselves in the middle of the Tri-State Wind Symphony during a Thursday night concert at Eagle Point Park and in the pilot house of the riverboat Twilight as she arrives in Dubuque.  They’ll see festivals, farmers markets, storms, and bits of everyday life with the hope that, by the end of the program, they’ll have composite picture of what life is like in Dubuque today.
