Prior to Tuesday night’s game against Western Carolina, Iowa announced that junior forward, and former Wahlert standout, Cordell Pemsl will miss the rest of the season after having surgery on one of his knees. According to a statement from the university, the surgery removed some hardware that was near Pemsl’s knee from a previous surgery he’d had in high school. Pemsl had played 18 key minutes in Iowa’s win over Iowa State earlier this month. But during the week following that game, he says he dealt with chronic irritation in the knee. Pemsl appeared in just two games for the Hawkeyes this season, and should be eligible for a medical redshirt.
