Northeast Iowa Community College hosted a Virtual Groundbreaking Ceremony on Monday to celebrate the beginning of construction and renovations at the Peosta campus. VP of Operations, Rhonda Seibert, says the upgrade will lead to a better learning environment for students. This is Phase 1 of 4, with the next phase beginning next summer. Plans include connecting buildings, upgrading classrooms and labs and a new cafeteria. School President, Dr. Lee, said the improvements will allow more access and faculty to better serve their students. The construction is funded by district voters’ successful passage of the $39 million bond levy in September 2018 and is expected to be substantially completed by July of 2022.
