New Dubuque City Clerk

Dubuque will have a new city clerk at the end of the month. The city council has hired Adrienne Breitfelder to replace Kevin Firnstahl who is retiring on October 30th after nearly ten years as city clerk. Firnstahl has been with the city for over 21 years. The city clerk is the custodian of official records for the city council, which includes preparing, maintaining and attesting to the official records of actions taken by the council in regular and special meetings. Breitfelder holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with minors in communications and information technology from the University of North Carolina. She has been employed by IBM in Dubuque since 2013 and is currently program manager. Her hiring followed a search and interview process. She’ll officially begin her new duties on October 22nd.
