Yesterday marked the start of the final signing period for prospective college football players. Hempstead High School senior lineman Jesse Hilby signed a letter of intent to attend the University of Northern Iowa. He will join teammate Reed Snitker, who committed to UNI last month.
Iowa added two more new signees to the 20 who were announced in December, Defensive back Jermari Harris and defensive lineman T.J. McCall. The Hawkeyes also announced grad transfer punter Michael Sleep-Dalton is joining the program.
Iowa State added a four star prospect to their recruiting class yesterday. Safety Isheem Young of Philadelphia, Pa. signed with the Cyclones. Young is ranked as a top-400 player and the Number 30 safety nationally by 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Locally Clarke University announced 27 athletes who have signed letters of intent to enroll and play for the Pride this season, the first in school history. Head coach Miguel Regelado says this year’s newcomers hail from 12 different states, including four from Arizona, California, Iowa and Illinois.
