National Mississippi River Museum Expecting Baby Sharks

The National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium could soon be home to some baby sharks. Last year, the facility acquired some Coral Catsharks for a new mobile touch tank. A couple of weeks ago, they noticed that one of the sharks had laid an egg. Now there are several eggs, some of them fertilized. The eggs came as a welcome surprise to museum and aquarium staff. Director of Living Collections Andy Allison says that once the sharks are born, they can be used to show people not all sharks are scary. The baby sharks are expected to be born this spring.
