Mullis Found Guilty

Jurors in the murder trial of Todd Mullis have returned a guilty verdict in the case. 43-year old Mullis is guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Amy, in November 2018. Mullis was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies at the conclusion of the reading of the verdict. Amy Mullis died on November 10, 2018, from multiple stab wounds to the back which investigators determined were from a corn rake. Todd originally told police that Amy had fallen at the family farm in Earlville, but Dr. Kelly Kruse, the state medical examiner, later ruled her death a homicide. KCRG reports sentencing will be held at a future date. First-degree murder is a class A felony, punishable by a mandatory life sentence without a possibility of parole.
