Miles Man Pleads Guilty To Robbery

A man accused of robbing a convenience store in Jackson County earlier this year has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. 70 year old Garry Evilsizer was originally charged with first degree robbery, but pleaded guilty to second degree robbery. Prosecutors say Evilsizer went to the Miles Mini-Mart on the night of January 4th armed with a knife and demanded money from the clerk. The next day police pulled over a car driven by Evilsizer for a faulty headlight and taillight. The officer saw what appeared to be a knife and clothing in the back seat that was used in the robbery, and Evilsizer matched the description of the holdup man. When he is sentenced next month he faces 10 years in prison.
