Man Sentenced To Prison In Stabbing Incident

A Dubuque man who was originally charged with attempted murder has agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors on a lesser charge. Court documents from Dubuque County say 25 year old Christopher Puccio pleaded guilty to a charge of willful injury causing serious injury. In August of 2018 a man went to Puccio’s residence on Angella Street and demanded items he said belonged to him. The two started fighting and at some point Puccio pulled out a folding knife and stabbed the man, who suffered a punctured lung. Puccio, who is already serving a two year prison sentence in an unrelated incident, will serve the sentences concurrently. Puccio was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, who survived the stabbing for five years.
