Man Gets Probation For Stabbing

A Dubuque man avoided jail time after reaching an agreement with prosecutors for his involvement in a stabbing incident earlier this year that injured another man. 32 year old Curtis Johnson-Jeffers was originally charged with willful injury causing serious injury and assault while displaying a weapon. He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of offense of assault causing injury and was sentenced to one year of probation. The stabbing happened in late September in the 1400 block of Central Avenue. The victim, who was stabbed five times survived.
