Man Arrested After Threatening To Blow Up Police Station

A man faces a laundry list of charges after Dubuque police say he threatened to blow up the police station. Online court records made available Monday say 24 year old Tyler Thompson was arrested early Friday morning after officers responded to a disturbance call in the parking lot of Romper Stompers in the 2300 block of Central Avenue. Thompson told officers he had gotten into an argument with someone. Officers say Thompson appeared to be intoxicated and while they were placing him in a squad car, officers found a small baggie which appeared to be methamphetamine. As he was being transported to the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center, documents say Thompson threatened to blow up the police department. He faces a half dozen charges ranging from first degree harassment to possession of a controlled substance.
