Lt. Governor Gregg Addresses Chamber’s YP

Iowa Lt. Governor Adam Gregg paid a visit to Dubuque Thursday afternoon as part of Governor Kim Reynolds’ annual state of Iowa tour. The Lt. Governor addressed the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce “young professionals.” His speech revolved mostly around the Governor’s recent Condition of the State address. In it the Governor introduced the “invest in Iowa act as part of her proposed budget. Gregg says it’s an important tax reform bill that would result in a net tax decrease. A key element of the Governor’s proposal would be an increase in the state’s sales tax. Gregg says broadband connectivity is also high on his priority list as well as the Governor’s agenda. Gregg says on top of the 5 million that the legislature appropriated for broadband expansion last year, the Governor’s budget calls for an additional 15 million this year.
