The No. 11 Loras College women’s basketball team (23-4, 13-3 A-R-C) came up short in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Tournament Championship game against rival No. 8 Wartburg College by a final score of 67-54.

 

Clarke University’s women’s basketball team climbed out of a big hole Saturday in Springfield, Mo, but (RV) Evangel University outscored the Pride 14-5 over the final four minutes and 40 seconds to claim a 65-60 win Heart of America Athletic Conference win. No. 20 Clarke, which will open Heart Championship quarterfinal play at home on Wednesday, finished regular-season play at 24-6 over and 18-6 in league play. Clarke will open postseason play at home on Wednesday against MidAmerica Nazarene.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

 

Clarke University’s men’s basketball team closed out its 2019-2020 regular-season on a winning note Saturday in Springfield, Missouri.  Clarkes 22 ranked claimed an 80-73 overtime victory over Evangel University and set a new program record with its 22nd victory. Clarke will open postseason play at home on Thursday, March 5 against Missouri Valley College in the Heart Men’s Basketball Championship quarterfinals.

 

The UNI Panthers claimed the MVC Regular Season Title after defeating the Bulldogs of Drake 70-43 in the Knapp Center.

 

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Luka Garza scored 25 points and had 17 rebounds as No. 18 Iowa pulled away in the second half for a 77-68 win over No. 16 Penn State on Saturday. Garza extended his streak of 20 or more points against Big Ten teams to 14 games, a new school record. It was Garza’s 14th double-double of the season. It was the 13th consecutive home win for the Hawkeyes (20-9, 11-7 Big Ten). Lamar Stevens led Penn State (21-8, 11-7) with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

 

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State (15-14, 5-11 Big 12) kept Iowa State (12-17, 5-11 Big 12) from making a second-half comeback run in a 73-61 victory Saturday afternoon in Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowboys led by seven points at the break and didn’t allow the Cyclones to make a serious threat, as ISU heads home with it last game in Hilton Coliseum on Tuesday.
