DETROIT (AP) – Andre Drummond had 19 points and 19 rebounds and Blake Griffin added 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Detroit Pistons beat the Chicago Bulls 107-88 Friday night. Reggie Jackson added 20 points for the Pistons, who have won four straight. Wendall Carter scored a career-high 28 points for the Bulls, who lost their fifth straight.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Urban Meyer arrived in Indianapolis on Friday with one goal – heading home with another Big Ten championship trophy. He treated everything else like a sideshow as the Buckeyes prepare to face No. 21 Northwestern on Saturday. Meyer ignored speculation about his coaching future and deflected talk about what No. 6 Ohio State would need to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. Instead, Meyer stuck to the same message he’s relayed to his team all week: Just focus on football.

DETROIT (AP) – Marcus Childers threw a touchdown pass – his fourth of the game – to D.J. Brown with 1:09 to go and Northern Illinois rallied from a 19-point, second-half deficit to take a 30-29 victory over Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference championship game. The 35-yard TD pass came on the eighth play of a 70-yard drive that took a little more than two minutes following a punt forced by Sutton Smith’s sack of Bulls quarterback Tyree Jackson.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) – New York Giants defensive coordinator James Bettcher had no intention of designing two game plans this week even though Chicago Bears starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has a shoulder injury. Bettcher is getting the Giants ready to face the Bears’ offense, and it doesn’t matter whether Trubisky is back at the helm Sunday at MetLife Stadium or veteran backup Chase Daniel is again running the show for Chicago.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) – Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was listed as doubtful and likely will miss his second straight game because of a right shoulder injury when the NFC North leaders visit the New York Giants on Sunday. Trubisky was hurt sliding late in a win over Minnesota on Nov. 18.

CHICAGO (AP) – The Chicago Cubs have offered suspended shortstop Addison Russell a 2019 contract while maintaining his future with the team is not uncertain. Russell is serving a 40-game domestic violence suspension following allegations by his ex-wife. Russell accepted a 40-game suspension last October for violating Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy. The decision followed allegations made by his ex-wife Melisa Reidy.

Chiefs drop Hunt…Huskies take conference crown…Sixers clobber Wizards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – The Kansas City Chiefs have released running back Kareem Hunt following the NFL’s decision to place him on the exempt list.
