Kettle Campaign Last 2 Days

As the annual Kettle Campaign for the Salvation Army of Dubuque wraps up Tuesday the need for donations is still great. Captain Matt Phelps of the Salvation Army says as of late last week they are behind this time last year reaching their goal of$ 225,000.  Phelps says a very valuable gold coin was found at the kettle located at the Dubuque HyVee on Locust. Bell ringers are positioned at outlets throughout the community, including Walgreens, Hartig Drug Stores, Hy-Vee, Walmart, Theisen’s, and the Kennedy Mall. The kettle campaign runs through mid-afternoon Tuesday, while the mail appeal continues until mid-January.
