Fundraising has begun to raise $100,000 to erect signage and create educational materials for the newly renamed Dubuque, Iowa, Regional Airport Captain Robert L. Martin Terminal. Links are provided below to make a donation and to learn more about Captain Martin.
Quilts of Valor on Display
The Carnegie-Stout Public Library will display quilts from the Northeastern Iowa chapter of the Quilts of Valor Foundation through November 5th.. The public may view the quilts during regular library hours.
River Museum Museum Free Virtual Programs
The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is offering free live virtual programs this fall on a variety of behind-the-scenes topics. Hills and Dales’ Halloween Harvest Pumpkin Decorating Contest
The Hills and Dales’ Halloween Harvest Pumpkin Decorating Contest is underway. Stop by the Kennedy Mall or visit the Hills and Dales Facebook page thru October 30th to view and vote for your favorite. A winner of a $200 prize package will be announced on the 30th. Linwood Cemetery “Haunted History Walk”
Linwood Cemetery located at 2736 Windsor Avenue, will host a “Haunted History Walk” on Mondays. Wednesdays and Fridays through October 30th. All Walks begin at 6:30pm and the cost is $10 per person. Masks will be required. All guests must sign up at gripsghosthunt.com. No walk-ins allowed.
ISU Extension and Outreach Monthly Family Harvest Boxes Program
Registrations are due on October 28th for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Dubuque County’s Monthly Family Harvest Boxes Program. November’s boxes are $20 each and will feature squash . The Carnegie-Stout Public Library National Family Literacy Month
November is National Family Literacy Month. The Carnegie-Stout Public Library will celebrate by providing free story time kits to families with preschool-aged children and free chapter book kits to families with children in elementary school during the month.
