Carnegie-Stout Public Library Free Holiday Food Pantry

The Carnegie-Stout Public Library is offering a free food pantry to the public through December 30th during regular library hours. Anyone in need is welcome to take items from the pantry. If you would like to make a donation of canned goods or dry packaged foods, you can leave them with a staff member at any library service desk.

Hillcrest Family Services Annual “Reflections in the Park” Lights Festival

Hillcrest Family Services Annual “Reflections in the Park” Lights Festival is open nightly from 5pm to 10pm November 26, through January 3, 2021 at Louis Murphy Park in Dubuque. Tickets are $10 at the gate or $8 in advance at any Hillcrest or Dubuque Bank & Trust location. Credit and debit cards will be accepted at the gate.

Fountain of Youth Program Weekly Virtual Series 

The Fountain of Youth Program will host a weekly virtual series of Community Education support groups on Tuesday’s through January 26th. The sessions are from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and topics include Government, Housing, Neighborhood and Community. Join them online at @fountainofyouthprogram.

The Midwest Medical Center Auxiliary annual Tree of Love Fundraiser

The Midwest Medical Center Auxiliary Annual Tree of Love Fundraiser is underway. Money raised through the sponsoring of ornaments or donations through December 11th will help support the hospital and Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. Donation envelopes are available at the hospital gift shop and in the hospital lobby. Questions can be directed to the hospital gift shop at (815) 777-6056.

Mathias Ham Historic Site offering Candlelight Tours

The Mathias Ham Historic Site is offering small Candlelight Tours and private day tours at the Ham Site for those interested this December. Social distancing and masks are required. Visit rivermuseum.com/hamsite or call (563) 557-9545 for information.

National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium Day Camps

The National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium will offer modified Day Camps for elementary youth December 28-31, 2020. The camps have been modified to accommodate new health and safety standards and limited class sizes. Camps run from 9:00am to 4:00pm and wrap-around care is provided at a small additional charge. The Carnegie-Stout Public Library National Family Literacy Month

November is National Family Literacy Month. The Carnegie-Stout Public Library is providing free story time kits to families with preschool-aged children and free chapter book kits to families with children in elementary school during the month. Dubuque Figure Skating Academy Theisen’s Learn to Skate

Skaters, ages 3 and up, are welcome  to register for the Theisen’s Learn to Skate sessions with the Dubuque Figure Skating Academy. Sessions begin January 5, 2021 at the Mystique Ice Center Register at dbqskating.org

Caregiver Support Group for Caregivers of Dementia Patients/Family Members

24-Hour Care and Oak Park Place host a Caregiver Support group for caregivers taking care of Dementia Patients/family members conducted by trained facilitators. Join them virtually the last Friday of each month at 1:00pm. Contact Sara Kirkpatrick or Nicole Karberg for log in information.
