Jo Daviess Drug Bust

A Chicago man, who had two passengers from Dubuque in his car when he was stopped for speeding in Jo Daviess County late Friday night, faces numerous drug charges. At around 11:15 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Main Street and Catlin Street in Elizabeth for several speeding violations. The driver, later identified as 24 year old James Gardner of Chicago, gave the deputy a fake name. Gardner had several outstanding warrants out for his arrest. The deputy smelled the odor of cannabis coming from the car. A search was conducted and the deputy found four ounces of packaged marijuana, 4 grams of cocaine and a small amount of oxycodone pills. Gardner was arrested and charged with unlawful delivery of cocaine and cannabis, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, obstruction identification, speeding, no valid driver’s license and two outstanding arrest warrants for no valid license and burglary. 21 year old Jordon Shireman of Dubuque was cited for failure to properly secure a child in a child restraint.
