Jalapeno Bacon Brat Boats 

8 Cremer’s Homemade Brats (try Jalapeno Bacon Brats)

2 red bell peppers, sliced

1 large onion, sliced

1 tablespoon Olive Oil

Salt & Pepper to taste

8 Sturdy brat buns

1 jar Marinara sauce or Spaghetti sauce

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning 

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese


Preheat oven to 400-degrees F.  

Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.  Add brats, bell peppers, onions and salt and pepper to taste.  Drizzle with Olive oil.  Poke each brat a few times with a sharp skewer or knife.  Bake for 45 minutes.  Remove from oven.

Hollow out the middle of your sturdy buns, creating a boat to hold brats.  Add baked brats and some of the peppers and onions.  Mix marinara and Italian seasoning together in a medium bowl, then top each brat boat with about 2 tablespoons of marinara mixture.  Cover all brats with shredded mozzarella cheese and return to the oven and bake, uncovered, 15 additional minutes.  Remove from oven, cut in half, and serve.
