The Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Girls Athletic Union have given the green light for high school baseball and softball in the state to start. Both the Association and Union approved practices for both sports starting June 1st with the first games on June 15. The move was made following Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announcement making it possible.
The Association and Union’s decision would allow fans to attend games with limited bleacher seating so fans will be encouraged to bring their own chairs, no concession stands will be allowed and there will be other social distancing guidelines to be followed.
Also yesterday the Governor announced some welcome news for campers just in time for Memorial Day weekend with the loosing of more restrictions at Iowa state campgrounds including campers being able to use modern restroom and shower facilities starting on Friday. Shelters and playgrounds at the parks will remain closed.
