Indigenous People’s Day

Indigenous People’s Day will be celebrated this weekend in Dubuque. The event was originally organized by the Multi-Cultural Family Center, the Meskwaki Nation, the University of Dubuque and the Dubuque Museum of Art. Taj Suleyman, director of equity for the Dubuque School District says the celebration will be held Saturday from 2 until 6 pm in Washington Park and will feature a presentation and a number of activities. There will also be Indian Fry Bread for participants to feast on. The event is free and masks are required. COVID-19 precautions will be followed, and you should bring lawn chairs and practice social distancing.
