SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews each scored in the shootout to lift the Chicago Blackhawks over the Florida Panthers 3-2. Toews also had a goal and an assist in regulation, and Drake Caggiula also scored for the Blackhawks. Corey Crawford made 38 saves and stopped both of Florida’s shots in the shootout. Mike Hoffman had a goal and an assist, and Mike Matheson also scored for the Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 27 shots. The Panthers have lost six straight home games.

EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Abbie Wolf scored 21 points and No. 14 Northwestern defeated rival Illinois 75-58 to clinch a share of its first Big Ten title in 30 years and set a school record with its 26th win. Lindsey Pulliam added 17 points for the Wildcats, who have won nine straight. Brandi Beasley scored 18 points for the Illini. The Wildcats won 25 games in 1979-79 and the 1989-90 Big Ten champions won 24 games. No. 7 Maryland is now a half-game behind Northwestern heading into a regular-season ending game at Minnesota on Sunday.

MESA, Ariz. (AP) — Yu Darvish pitched two innings in his spring debut for the Chicago Cubs and showed off a fastball that reached 98 miles per hour. Darvish gave up a home run on his first pitch, with Orlando Arcia of the Milwaukee Brewers hitting a drive over the wall. Darvish says he predicted he would allow a homer on his pitch, figuring he would throw a fastball over the plate for a strike and Arcia would swing.

NEW YORK (AP) — Reserve Mitchell Robinson had a career-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Julius Randle added 22 points and 10 boards, and the New York Knicks beat the Chicago Bulls 125-115 to snap a six-game losing streak. RJ Barrett finished with 19 points and Taj Gibson had 17 points and eight rebounds in his return after missing his last game due to back spasms. Zach LaVine scored 26 points and Coby White chipped in 22 off the bench for the Bulls, who have lost their last two games and 10 of 11.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks say forwards Andrew Shaw and Zack Smith will miss the rest of the season because of injuries. Shaw has been sidelined since Nov. 30 because of a concussion. Smith is scheduled for back surgery next week. Shaw has three goals and seven assists in 26 games this season. Smith has four goals and seven assists in 50 games in his first season in Chicago after 11 years with Ottawa. The Blackhawks are last in the Central Division.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Jordan Tucker and Sean McDermott scored 13 points each and Butler beat DePaul 60-42. McDermott scored 11 points in the first half when Butler took a 29-22 lead and Tucker scored all his points over an 8½-minute span of the second half, finishing a 20-6 run with three consecutive 3-pointers for a 53-32 lead with six minutes to go. DePaul missed 11 shots from the arc before Romeo Weems extended the Blue Demons’ streak of consecutive games with a 3 to 835 when he sank one with 19 seconds remaining. The Blue Demons didn’t have a scorer in double figures.
