High Speed Chase Arrests

Two Platteville men face multiple charges after a high speed chase Saturday night. Around 8 pm, Grant County Sheriff’s deputies were attempting to apprehend 23-year old Travis Aide on multiple felony warrants at a residence in Arthur, when Aide took off at a high rate of speed eastbound on Cushman Road, nearly striking one of the deputies. Shortly after the pursuit began, one of the deputies slid off the road, and the pursuit continued on rural roads for about 10 miles at speeds up to 100 mph. After a few loops through a corn field Aide’s truck became disabled and he surrendered and was placed under arrest. A passenger, 20-year old Taylor Rode, was also arrested for multiple felony warrants. Combined warrants included felony and misdemeanor cases out of Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties for: Felony Bail Jumping and Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, among others. New charges due to the pursuit will be forwarded to the State District Attorney’s Office. Nobody was injured as a result of the pursuit and the Grant County squad car sustained heavy damage.
