Cold Hawkeyes Fall at Nebraska
Iowa men’s basketball couldn’t overcome a cold shooting night last night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Hawkeyes shot just 12.1 percent from 3-point range (making 4-of-33 attempts) in a 76-70 road loss to Nebraska. Iowa is 1-5 in its last six trips to Lincoln.
Sophomore Joe Wieskamp paced the Hawkeyes with 21 points, making 10-of-23 field goals, but he went just 1-of-10 from 3-point range. Former Wahlert prep Cordell Pemsl had 4 points.
Iowa returns home to face #12 Maryland on Friday night.
UNI Tops Indiana State
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI men’s basketball team moved to 13-2 on the season and 2-1 in the MVC after defeating Indiana State 68-60 on Tuesday night in the McLeod Center. Austin Phyfe finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points and hauling in 12 total rebounds. Former Senior prep Noah Carter added 2 points and 3 rebounds.
