Ham & Cheese Strata

16 slices white bread, cubed

1 ½ lbs. cubed ham

2 cups Swiss cheese

2 cups mozzarella cheese

6 eggs

2 ½ cups milk (any kind)

½ tsp. onion powder

¼ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. pepper

½ tsp. dry mustard

Topping: 

3 cups crushed corn flakes

½ cup melted butter

Spray a 9 x 13” baking dish with cooking spray.  Spread one half of the cubed bread in the bottom of pan.  Distribute ham and cheese evenly over bread cubes.  Cover with remaining bread. 

In a large bowl, mix eggs, milk, onion powder, salt, pepper, and dry mustard.  Pour over the bread mixture.  Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.  The next day, remove from refrigerator one hour before baking. 

Preheat oven to 375-degrees.  Bake, uncovered for 10 minutes.  While baking, combine corn flakes and melted butter.  After 10 minutes, remove from oven and sprinkle corn flake topping over strata.  Return to oven and bake for 40-45 minutes.  Remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes before cutting.  Serve.
