Growing Sustainable Communities Conference

The 12th annual Growing Sustainable Communities Conference will be held Thursday and Friday, at the Grand River Center. Mayor Roy Buol says the conference offers innovation, education, inspiration, and collaboration. Sessions presenters include representatives from federal, state, and local governments, along with business and academic leaders from across the country. The agenda includes two keynote luncheons, mobile workshops, a breakfast session, and more. The conference is hosted by the City of Dubuque and is the largest and longest-standing sustainability conference in the Midwest. People can still buy tickets for the conference, and this year, the city is  offering a “keynote only” option – so folks who can’t come the whole day can join for breakfast or lunch and listen to the keynote presenter. There is one keynote (Lilia A. Abron) on Thursday October 24th, 11: 35 am – 1:15 pm, and on October 25th a breakfast plenary (Jim Shultz) at 8 am – 9:30 am and lunch presentation from 12:20 pm – 2 pm. (Katharine Hayhoe). Tickets are $25 each. To register, or for more information, please visit www.GSCDubuque.com.
