Group Bringing Special Tool To the Slopes

A snowboarding and skiing group in Dubuque is only in its’ second year, but it’s making a big difference for a smaller community. The group Midwest Free Riders is giving kids a chance to perfect their snow-sports skills. Ben White started the group. While going to high school in Vermont, White was exposed to some of the best snowboarding facilities and coaches. He tells our coverage partners at KCRG TV that he wanted to give kids those same opportunities to improve upon their skills. White started fundraising to purchase what’s called a “big air bag” to help kids with back flips, front flips, corks and rodeos. White says the “big air bag” should keep the kids safe while they try out risky moves. White will unveil the “big air bag’ on Saturday January 11th at Sundown Mountain and Ski Resort in Dubuque.
