Greeley Man Sentencing Delayed

A sentencing hearing has been delayed for a Greeley man who agreed to a plea deal for his role in the death of an Edgewood woman more than 3 years ago. 31-year old Max Fenton pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. Fenton was accused of illegally firing an “improvised cannon” made from the sawed-off barrel of a black powder rifle in July of 2016. A piece of shrapnel struck 55-year old Lori Heims in the head killing her. The judge filed an order recusing himself Tuesday. If the deal is eventually approved, the charge will be reduced from a felony to an aggravated misdemeanor.
