Grant County Man Rescued From Grain Bin

A team of about 75 members of a tactical rescue unit and fire departments from several southwest Wisconsin counties spent a couple of hours Monday morning rescuing a Grant County man from a grain bin that was full of shelled corn. Crews responded to a farm on Grandview Road near Stitzer at around 8:30. When they arrived they found 71 year old David Reiter trapped inside the bin and buried up to his chest in corn. Rescuers used what is called a “cofferdam” to free Reiter. He was transported to U.W. Hospital in Madison where he was treated and released.
