A local business has teamed up with the Salvation Army in Dubuque to offer free lawn service for seniors during the coronavirus pandemic. Captain Matt Phelps says the business, which wants to remain anonymous at this time, approach them and asked what could they do to help during this unprecedented crisis. Some seniors in the community may not be able to afford a lawn service and are vulnerable to COVID-19 because of age or medical conditions. Phelps says since the outbreak many of them have not been able to leave their homes. Seniors wishing to take advantage of the free lawn service should call the Salvation Army to be placed on a list. Phelps says someone from the lawn service will call ahead before they come to cut your grass. You should let them know if you have your own lawn equipment, or should they bring their own.
