Finkenauer, Nussle Tour Dupaco Voices

One former U.S. Representative in Iowa’s First Congressional District and the current one toured the Dupaco Voices building in the Historic Millwork District yesterday. Current Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer and former Congressman Jim Nussle joined executives and a team of employees from Dupaco for the tour. The building is located at 1000 Jackson Street and is being renovated to be the new operations center for Dupaco Community Credit Union. Earlier this year Dupaco received a quarter-of-a-million dollars in tax incentives from the Iowa Finance Authority, and just last month the credit union got 8.5 million in state historic preservation tax credits from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. Dupaco is investing 37.5 million in the project and the city of Dubuque approved a benefit package valued at approximately 2.1 million dollars in January. Finkenauer says the tax credits are what made the project possible. Nussle, who is now Credit Union National Association President and CEO says he likes what Dupaco is doing in the community. The renovations are expected to be completed in the fall of 2020.
