Finkenauer Named Vice Chair of Highway Committee
The Congresswoman who represents Dubuque has been chosen to another committee leadership position. Democrat Abby Finkenauer of Dubuque will serve as the Vice Chair of a House subcommittee on highways and transit. That subcommittee will operate as an offshoot of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, one of the committees that Finkenauer sits on. Among the subcommittee’s responsibilities are developing nation surface transportation policy, construction and improvement of highway facilities, and regulation of commercial motor vehicle operations. In addition to being Vice Chair of that panel, Finkenauer is also the Chair of the Rural Development, Agriculture, Trade, and Entrepreneurship subcommittee, which operates under the Small Business Committee. Finkenauer has also been appointed as an Assistant Majority Whip in her first term in Congress.
