DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Dubuque Fighting Saints added three players through the 2019 Dispersal Draft, acquiring Stephen Halliday, Mitchell Gibson and Caden Villegas. The draft was held after the Central Illinois Flying Aces announced earlier this season they would not be returning for the 2019-2020 campaign.
- Halliday scored 10 goals and added 24 assists for 34 points in his rookie season.
- Villegas skated in just six games with the Flying Aces, tallying a single assist. In 50 games with the Springfield Jr. Blues of the NAHL, he added 20 points.
- Gibson will be going to Harvard in the fall and is also a draft pick of the Washington Capitals. Gibson had a 3.50 GAA and an .890 save percentage this season for Central Illinois.
All three will be on the roster for next season, tonight the Saints attempt to keep this season going playing game 3 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals against Muskegon at Mystique Community Ice Center. Dubuque trails the Lumberjacks 2-0 in the best of 5 series. The puck will drop at 7:05 pm.
