Felony Drug Arrest

A vehicle stopped for improper lane usage Sunday evening led to a felony drug arrest near Elizabeth, Illinois. Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies stopped 54-year old Troy Miller of Hazel Green around 11:57 pm on US Route 20 and during the stop a K-9 indicated the presence of a narcotic odor. During a search of the vehicle the Deputies located a plastic bag containing a white crystal-like powder under the driver’s seat and a rock of similar substance on the backseat. Both tested positive for methamphetamine. The search also found a clear glass pipe and butane torch used for smoking methamphetamine. Miller was arrested and transported to the Jo Daviess County Jail. He is charged with Unlawful possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A passenger, 42-year old Joseph Allen, of Nora, Illinois, was arrested on an active warrent. The incident remains under investigation.
