IOWA CITY, Iowa – – University of Iowa defensive end A.J. Epenesa has been recognized as Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Week following Iowa’s 23-19 win over seventh-ranked Minnesota.
Epenesa recorded three solo tackles and one assist as Iowa handed Minnesota its first loss of the season. He recorded 2.5 of Iowa’s six sacks, along with forcing a fumble and collecting one quarterback pressure. This is the third conference honor for Epensea in his career.
Iowa will host Illinois this Saturday at Kinnick Stadium.
