The 8th annual “Enhancing Excellence Luncheon” will take place this morning, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s event, like many other fundraisers since the pandemic hit, will be held live online. The luncheon is a fundraiser for the Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools. Executive Director Amy Unmacht says the luncheon will be similar to the ones they’ve had in the past, but in this case, virtually. Unmacht will give an update on the funding that is lacking in areas that donors can support. The luncheon typically raises around $40,000 and supports the foundation’s operating budget as well as projects and programs throughout the year. Dubuque superintendent Stan Rheingans will also address the luncheon virtually, which starts at 11:30. The public is invited to join in by visiting dbqschools.org/fdps-luncheon, or follow them on their website or Facebook for up to date information.
