Emerald Ash Borer In Delaware County

Iowa state officials have confirmed the presence of the emerald ash borer in Delaware County. The insect kills ash trees and are native to Asia. The bug was first reported in Iowa in 2010 and has since infested trees in 64 counties in the state included Dubuque, Clayton and Jackson counties. Trees attacked by the insect live 2-to-4 years after that. If you suspect that your ash trees have been infested contact the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
