The owner of “That’s My Dog”, located in Dubuque has been given the green light by the city council to move ahead with an educational campaign for pet owners to better understand a city’s ordinance that now allows leashed pets in a majority of city parks. On Monday night the council voted to receive and file a presentation by Robin McFarlane on an educational campaign. She will team up with the city to promote responsible pet ownership. At-large councilman Ric Jones says McFarlane is the perfect person to promote responsible pet ownership. The campaign will focus on pet owners as well as non-pet owners. The ultimate goal of the campaign is to educate people on how they and their pets can share green space and public areas in a respectful manner.
